RIGHT LEG:
Last year was one of our better years.
in a life full of separation
it’s ok to second guess.
just as long as you remember she’s gone…
In the bright of day
it might seem like the stars are gone.
they never leave,
they come back when the sun moves on.
It’s over now.
you watched me as I turned around.
it’s not why, but how
the light is on.
I’ll come home now.
I feel it’s been such a long time
since her eyes have met with mine.
I feel it’s been such a long time
I’m glad you’ve made up your mind.
it’s hurting me from the inside.
if I only had something to say.
maybe if I prove that I’m right.
will it still be safe to stay?
- “The Goodbye Song” by New Found Glory
LEFT LEG:
Let’s get out
Let’s get out of here
I’ll go it alone if I have to but,
I need you there
I’m honest with nobody else
Whether or not I make it there is will itself
I’m honest with only myself
How I can’t afford to lose you now,
Not in this hell
I’ll stay with you
I’m a mess
A total wreck
A poor excuse without you near to
Keep me in check
Take me out, take me anywhere
I’m out of touch with everything
And I don’t care
I must be out of my mind
All that I have to give to you
Is all my time
I’ll stay with you
And we’ll say over and over… I’m a waste of time

Holy crap, talk about a poor life choice!
At least she won the bet, right?
Way to pick something timeless. Mmm…tacky teeny-pop. Why is this on the website? Crappy music is not literature.
HAHAHAHAHAHA
FAIL
why would you do that to yourself
so miserable as well – she can hardly look down and be cheered up. from a distance it would look like a skin condition
[...] who?) to photos of literary tattoos, and was struck by how many folks decided to permanently ink the lyrics of recent songs into their bodies (could be worse, though). Their conviction is impressive, and their sentiments are [...]
That is going to bleed together when she’s older and it will look like two giant bruises.
Although I don’t like the tattoo, I don’t agree that just because it’s pop-punk or teeny-bopper music that it doesn’t mean something to her.
I agree in concept to some of the others: maybe it means something now, but later, you’ll think WHAT FOR? Musical tastes are so fleeting and temporal.
On top of that, this is NOT literary – Kerouac, Kafka, Dickens, Shakespeare – THOSE are literary artists. Pop culture does not equal Literary goodness.
On top of that, small lettering does not hold up well – maybe you’ll be able to read that in a decade and maybe not….
More power to her but this is one of the dumber tattoos I’ve ever seen. In 20 years she’s going to regret tattooing the entire front of both of her thighs. She needs a dang clue.
FAIL
Now if she wanted to get a line or two I can see it, but the entire song? Ten bucks says she gets it removed in 20 years.
I like it. I am wondering what font type was used. It looks like Garamond.
Upon closer inspection it looks like a new type font – I shall call it: Thigh Tat Bold
The Sherlock Holmes stories were published in serial form. Popular theatre of the seventeenth century is now required reading. I think the term literary is starting to stink of pretention. Do I think that these songs will last the test of time? No. But that doesn’t mean that these tattoos don’t belong on this website. They are tattoos of words from a widely available worded source.
that is THE dumbest thing I have ever seen, you have to live with THAT the rest of your life!!!
just read other comments, glad I am not alone in thinking this is terrible.
where were her “friends” ?!?!?!?!?
ok…. SHUT THE FUCK UP! If that is what she wants then let her have it! Don’t be joy-suckers! All of you assholes should keep your mouth shut if you can’t say something nice! While I do agree that these song lyrics are not literature or have any literary merit and therefor should probably not be on this site that does not give you the right to berate someone for their choices in tattooing! If those songs mean something to her then she won’t regret them in 20 years. That’s all I have to say… I personally wouldn’t do it but i am getting slam tattooed down my calf so I can’t say anything
wow i really like the song MMMbop by hanson. doesnt mean im going to plaster it on my body. too bad a swimsuit will never look cute on you again.
Don’t be a snob. Words don’t loose their value or PERSONAL importance just because they’re put to music.
I hope you enjoy your tat!
Snobs! Dickens, Dostoyevsky, Shakespeare, they all got paid for their works and in their time no one put them on pedestals, now anyone who’s read those books feels he’s an Iluminati or whatever,
I’ve read enough romantic poems to know that many say exactly the same thing the Cartel song said in the words of their time.
All of you snobs look for Goldfish a Gustav Klimt’s painting and enjoy..
( He dedicated that to his critics)
NOT literature.
some of my favourite lyrics are from very famous bands so if the lyrics mean something to her then she can choose to get them tattooed however i dont think she should have got the whole freaking song tattooed on her legs just because it looks dreadful. maybe pick a pretty lyric and get it tattooed on your shoulder or wrist but so many lyrics on your thighs?!
thigh tattoos should be banned for woman. ive never seen a good one x
I think it would have been wiser to choose just one line or her favourite quote from the song. Tattoos should be both, meaningful and nice to look at, but this is just too much. But if she is happy with this, then why should other people bother…
I dont think it matters where the words are from – they either mean something or they dont. Sometimes it is just the fact that someone elses words are exactly what we would say ourselves had we the eloquence… if she is happy with her tattoos then f what anyone else thinks, its her body, her choice…dont like it – fine, but dont give the chick a hard time – do you know what her life is like? No? Me neither, but, I wouldve thought that a literary tattoo website wouldve had more open minded folk that frequent it….obviously not….
