Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
- From 'Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night' by Dylan Thomas
This tattoo was submitted by dylan Snow, who says:
Years ago when I showed this tattoo to my grandmother (who once kicked a man out of her house for having an earring) she told me she approved. It was her grandmother's favorite poem and favorite poet.

It's even better if your name is Dylan!

I love Dylan Thomas and I've been thinking about getting this same poem for quite a while. I love it!

One of my all-time favorite poems. I think this is a particularly meaningful quote to have inked on skin. I commend you!
PS–I love the font!

i know an amazing song with these words…it's in the north-american shape-note tradition (look it up) and is so powerful…i love it!

Shaina, I'd love to see a shape-note-style tune with this passage — it is just about 180 degrees from the traditional shapenote attitude ("Death? Bring it on!").

I happened upon this website today (thanks to the "timshel" tattoo post), and this tattoo is the first one to really make me grin. This is a favorite poem of mine that always stays hidden away until a word or moment brings it back to the surface.
