virgil

Molly Crabapple submitted this picture of her tattoo.  It reads “Audentes Fortuna Iuvat” (“Fortune Favors the Brave”) and comes from Book X, line 284 of The Aeneid by Publius Vergilius Maro (Virgil).

thanks again for posting me! I really love this site, and looked at it quite a bit before I got inked.

Btw, Dave Wallin from Tattoo Culture in Brooklyn is the artist who does my tattoos. Highly recommend going to him if you’re in New York

words to live by! :) this is exciting for me to see; i have “fortune favours the brave” curved along the side/underside of my right breast in cursive. i couldn’t decide which variation i wanted in latin, so i stuck with english.
