I understand the saying utterly and completely, but I'm sorry - breaking up with a loved one, in my opinion, is not reason enough to want to kill yourself nor is it something in which closely relates to this quote.

You're happy with it, so be it; but being one who has struggled their whole life, lost many friends and relatives through unfortunate deaths, overdoses or suicides - I find it sort of offensive that others are unable to cope with things which are not that significant.

I have also been broken up with by a person who I was with for seven years; I was certain they were going to be with me for the rest of my life, and when it ended it was terrible. But I picked myself up and moved on.

But I suppose those who are lucky enough to hardly experience many horrors (if any) in their life, do not build up a resistance to the pain and suffering.

My friend has a similar tattoo on her shoulderblade. Both yours and hers are beautiful, I love Vonnegut too. <3
