Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince comes out in theatres in 4 days.

This is Ryann's tattoo:
These are three little stars that appear on either end of the chapter title at the top of every page in all of the Harry Potter books. I got this because it is not a blatant reference to Harry Potter, but more of a secret one that only people that have read it will recognize. The series has a lot of personal meaning for me, so I thought an understated tribute would be appropriate.

  1. This is really cool.

I love the fact that it is Harry Potter but it doesn't scream, Harry Potter Nut.

I'm similar and eventually want a tattoo that is sort of a hidden Harry Potter reference.

    I love it.

  2. this is brilliant, and i hope you take it as a compliment that i totally want one like it now :)

  3. Thank you! I do take it as a compliment. I'm also not opposed to anyone copying it. I'm sure plenty of people have the stars somewhere on their body. The more the merrier!

  4. Rad! Very cool to have a reference on the down-low. :P

  5. That is a very cool! I like it a lot–it is definitely amongst the most subtle yet meaningful HP tattoos I've seen. I never thought about getting one, but now that I've seen yours, I might!

  6. I absoultely love this.

I love Harry Potter, and grew up reading the books. I recently got my first tattoo and am now looking for soemthing to complete my second one. I hope you don't mind if I borrow this concept, because like others have said before, it is subtle but not completely obscure.

  7. This is so great! I've been looking for ideas for a tattoo with either harry potter or his dark materials, and this idea may allow me to do both of them. :-D looks really pretty

  8. Hey, just wanted to let you know I was planning to get this tattoo in a couple days and decided to google the idea and came across this! Great minds think alike! Yours looks great. I was actually thinking similar placement–maybe slightly closer to the ankle. Any tips on pain/placement? Are you still happy with your tat a couple years down the road?

  9. That's so cool! I totally want one of those, maybe on my shoulder. I'm terrified of needles so that might be a problem though. :)

  10. A friend of mine sent me the link to your photo. I have the same stars tattoo, but on the top of my foot. I'm glad to see other people found less obvious ways to honor a great book.
