“If you are a dreamer, come in,
If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,
A hope-er, a pray-er, a magic bean buyer…
If you’re a pretender, come sit by my fire
For we have some flax-golden tales to spin.
Come in!
Come in!”
– Invitation by Shel Silverstein, in Where the Sidewalk Ends
This is Kaitlynn’s tattoo:
I got it in memory of all of my grandparents who have passed away, mainly for my mom’s mom, who loved Shel Silverstein’s work and collected his books – “Invitation” was one of her favorite poems.
I adore this.
I love this. so simple, so perfect.
This is the best fucking tattoo I have ever seen in my life!!!!!!!! LOL
Dangit! I've been planning to get this same tattoo! Now I guess I'll have to find another way to honor the poem. *sigh*
LOVE the ink, though. :)
I have this poem posted on my wall, just to remind me that I am, in fact, all those things. Especially the magic-bean-buyer :)
Awesome tattoo!!

this is beautiful, a lovely memorial.
Oh man, I'd never heard of Shel Silverstein until the last few weeks, and now he keeps popping up everywhere! What a beautiful beautiful poem…and an awesome tattoo.
