Literary Tattoos: Howl Allen Ginsberg

It’s from Part I of “Howl” by Allen Ginsberg.  The entire stanza reads:

who copulated ecstatic and insatiate with a bottle of

beer a sweetheart a package of cigarettes a candle and fell off the bed, and continued along
the floor and down the hall and ended fainting
on the wall with a vision of ultimate cunt and

come eluding the last gyzym of consciousness,

Leyna says:

… I thought better of tattooing that much obscenity on me. “Ecstatic and insatiate” seem to capture Ginsberg’s own vision of New York City, as well as the sentiment I feel as I begin my sixth (!) year living in Manhattan or an outter burough. I’m a huge fan of the beats and love having a piece of Ginsberg’s work.

I just wanted to say that "Howl" is one of my favorite poems of all time (I made a video based on it for my senior project). While I would probably get "starving hysterical naked" something from the line "who wandered around and around in the railroad yard at midnight, wondering where to go and went, leaving no broken hearts" or "who threw their watched off the roof to cast their ballot for eternity outside of time…" I love that there are other people out there who are Allen Ginsberg fans!!
