This is Tiffany’s tattoo:

I got the tattoo last spring, in honor of my husband, whose heart I carry in mine.

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)
i fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

e. e. cummingsi carry your heart with me

Things I like: the font, the quote, and the way it curves organically with the curve of the body (although I am not usually overfond of cleavage tattoos).

I always wonder, though, about getting a tattoo for another person. Anything can happen in love, but tattoos are permanent.

Both the words and the design are really beautiful.

It can be a great thing to have a tattoo for someone else. No matter what the future brings that tattoo will be a testament to the strong, positive feelings you felt for that person.

Even when things go awry in a relationship, you still carry that person’s heart in your heart.

I love tattoos (I have three…I should submit them) because they tell your life story. Regardless of what changes in life, you always have something to remind you of who you were, and all of those things contribute to who you are now.

i have a tattoo of from the same poem down my spine. Its the most moving poem ive ever heard and has been a favorite of mine for years.
I also have mine in honor of husband, we had the poem read at the wedding and it holds a truely special, personal meaning to us both.
I have the lines “i fear no fate for you are my fate, my sweet’

this tattoo is beautiful. those lines were also borrowed and used for a lyric in a song by Bloc Party called Ion Square. when i saw the tattoo, immediately thought of the song, which is also quite lovely.

This poem also inspired a beautiful song by the late guitar great Michael Hedges. Highly recommend!
