The Great Gatsby

This is Sam's tattoo.

The tattoo is part one of a three part series I plan on getting- the last lines from my three favorite books. Not only is the last line of The Great Gatsby intriguing, it also embodies the entire message and journey of the book- that is, Gatsby's regression into the past as he continues to live into the future. I got my tattoo at Route 66 Ink in Portland, Connecticut.

"So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."

- Last line in The Great Gatsby
