This is Marc’s tattoo, done in a recreation of Lewis Carroll’s handwriting.
I got this quote because it’s recognizably from the book, it captures the general attitude of the story, and it’s something that I feel carries deeper meaning than just the surface reading. What it says to me is, “There’s no such thing as normal”. We’re all weird in our own ways!

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland was my favorite book since I was little. My dad read several of Lewis Carroll’s works to me before I could read, and I enjoyed Alice so much that i chose the poem “Jabberwocky” for oral poetry competitions in elementary. I attribute my love for literature to my exposure to such a fun and strange world and chose a quote that I thought captured it. It is tattooed in white ink on my inner, right wrist.
“But I don’t want to go among mad people,” Alice remarked.
“Oh, you can’t help that,” said the cat: “We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.”
“How do you know I’m mad?” said Alice.
“You must be,” said the cat, “Or you wouldn’t have come here.”
