Ithaca

This is Justin's tattoo.

The inspiration for this tattoo comes from Contantine Cavafy's poem "Ithaca." The last lines have always struck me:

"And if you find her poor, Ithaca has not deceived you.
Wise as you have become, with so much experience,
you must already have understood what Ithacas mean."

Here's to finding what our Ithacas mean.

  1. Isn’t it a town in N.Y.?

  2. Very deep meaning, indeed. Thanks for sharing this tattoo. I would love to add this to http://www.3mik.com/group/tattoo ,if you permit. It would be a nice addition to many sanskrit tattoos that ihave.

  3. Nice! Did it hold the darkness after it was healed for a while? Great work.
