The Gunslinger

This is Blair's tattoo.

It is from The Gunslinger, the first book in Stephen King's Dark Tower series. The Image is the chapter-head and the Text is the first line of the book. It has always been my favourite opening line. In one sentence all the essentials are laid out. We are told that the man in black's primary characteristic is a kind of sinister ambiguity, whereas the Gunslinger more than anything else is defined by his guns. Furthermore, while the man in black flees, the gunslinger doesn't chase, he follows, hinting at an almost mechanical patience and stoicism. Additionally... it looks badass.
