Little, Big

This belongs to Poppy McFee.
The quote is from Little, Big
which is my favourite book of all time by my favourite author, John Crowley. I first read it when I was eighteen, and many times since. I means as much to me at fourty-four as it did back then. It is a wonderful book, full of beauty and truth, and its relevance has changed with me as I have grown older. The signature you see comes from a message John Crowley was kind enough to send me for my birthday last year. As there was little hope of ever getting to a book signing my husband mailed him and asked him to send me a signature and he did with a lovely message too! It was such a wonderful surprise and I wanted to immortalise it along with the quote.
I don't know what the font is, but we lifted it directly from the book (1986 Methuen reissue):
"He saw the ruffled curtains move in the rose-odorous breeze. He listened to the dust mop dog sigh in his dreams. He found another sampler. This one said, he thought but could not be sure:
The Things that Make us Happy
Make us Wise
He slept."
