So it goes #24

This is Sydney's tattoo.

When bad things happen, what can you do but keep moving?  You can dwell on it, or you can accept it and become a stronger person because of it.  Live your life.

So it goes #23

This is Lacey's tattoo:

Like everyone else, I got "so it goes" from Slauterhouse Five. Personally, I have been through alot in life and have persevered. I believe that your experiences make you who you are, and it is important to look at life that way, instead of creating the excuse that your past is the reason for your flaws. So It Goes for me is just a reminder that life always goes on, and it is important to live in the present, instead of being stuck in the past. We miss life when we focus on the bad and the past. The blow flower and birds signify that although I was once tied down, I am now free to choose my own path. We are all free, it is just a matter of figuring out if we want to stick to a path (like the blowflower seeds when they are anchored) or go where the wind takes us.

So it goes #22

This tattoo belongs to Louis.

Kurt Vonnegut is one of my all time favorite authors and I absolutely love Slaughterhouse Five. This phrase has always stuck out to me and I love how simply it sums up even the most tragic events. Life happened and there is no way to avoid it…so it goes.

So it goes #21

This is Nancy's tattoo.

This is my first tattoo on the back of my neck a few hours after it was done and I got it for a few reasons. I love the almost black humour and irony used in reference to death and dying; people focus too much on death and not enough on living, as cliche as that sounds. I'm studying journalism and I'm a freelance writer so I enjoy how it's used stylistically as a narrative transition. Lastly, although obscure, I like to related it to my favourite Friedrich Nietzsche quote "God is dead". This I relate to the death of organised religion and rediscovering your own moral compass by which you live by.

So it goes #18

This is Diana's tattoo:

[I] can't quite explain how much I love it without sounding pretentious and douchey, but the short of it is that the philosophy of all moments existing all at once makes me feel both infinite and infinitesimal at the same time.
